Now we know there is an explanation for what some people call impulsive, disorganized and/or inattentive behaviors. Attention deficit disorder (ADD), often referred to as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), is the most common psychiatric disorder in children and adults, affecting between 5-10% of the population.
It can make it difficult or impossible for some people to concentrate in school, to stay with a job or to feel successful in their family lives. Fortunately, for those who are diagnosed with ADD & ADHD, utilizing the combination of counseling, medication (if appropriate) and lifestyle changes can and do make a difference in the successful of treatment of ADD & ADHD. People with ADD & ADHD can and do feel better.
