Our Autism Screening Process
M-Chat, the most widely recognized and recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics, is a tool that helps aid in the early screen for autism in children between the ages of 16-30 months. The primary goal of this autism testing is to identify if a child is at risk and if they should receive further evaluation. Keep in mind, during this autism screening, there is a high false-positive right, meaning that not all children who score "at risk" will be diagnosed with ASD. However, to address this, we have developed a follow-up procedure to even further evaluate each child to ensure the most accurate information is evaluated. The earlier we begin the diagnosis, the better the outcomes will be. We give children the help they need to grow, so there's no need to wait!
